Welcome to Forté Mastiffs!

This is the home of Brandon and Lisa Washburn and our wonderful mastiff babies located in Mesa, Arizona!

OUR MISSION

At Forté Mastiffs, we believe in betterment of the breed. We breed for soundness, temperament and type. Although we are a small kennel, we take our breeding program very seriously and attempt to plan each breeding 6-12 months in advance. Many hours are spent researching pedigrees, health, movement, physical characteristics and temperament. Our puppies are placed in carefully selected homes. We provide a written health guarantee and all the support you need throughout your puppy's life. We welcome stories, pictures and if possible the occasional visit.

Our dogs and puppies are family raised and highly socialized. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of socialization. All of our dogs are house dogs. We have built an addition onto our house strictly for our precious babies. It is important for us to spend our free time not only with them in a group setting but one on one as well. Each one of our mastiffs has its own unique personality that makes them special.

Please feel free to email us at fortémastiffs@cox.net. We welcome you into our home to meet our wonderful dogs. Thank you for taking the time to visit our site.

OUR STORY

As with many Mastiff fanciers, the first time I saw a Mastiff it was love at first sight. I was working as a Veterinary Technician at a hospital/boarding facility when this beautiful big English Mastiff came to board for a week. He was the most loving and magnificent animal. I immediately called Brandon and had him come down and see this dog. Now, Brandon was not a big animal lover at this time and had really never owned a dog of his own. I walked Tank right up to him and he fell in love with him although was still hesitant about the drool and his size. We lived dog free, in a townhouse for two years. I always said that when we got our house, we will get a mastiff.

In 1998, Brandon and I signed the papers on our first house. That same day Brandon surprised me with the news… he had bought our first Mastiff. We purchase Jenny from Sam and Lorie Jabbour of Eklesia Mastiffs. She is the sweetest, kindest dog. Jenny is now 7 years old and the queen of the castle. We are so lucky to have her in our lives and in our home. Thank you Sam and Lorie!

We began showing Jenny and it was then we were introduced to John & Marianne Jackson and Steve Parks of Smokn' Lad Mastiffs. Through their friendship and guidance we have learned so much and for that we are thankful.

Over the years our kennel has grown and we have been so blessed to share the good times and the hard times with some wonderful friends. Although there are too many of you to list we thank you all and appreciate you all very much.

We enjoy traveling to many different shows and showing our dogs in confirmation. We also have some puppies going for their CGC title. Please visit Our Boys, Our Girls & Forte Bred to learn more about the dogs we own, the dogs we've bred and the dogs we love.

Again, thank you for taking the time to visit our site and our family.
